About Bleach (not Clorox)

So after years of denying Bleach, when all my friends around me were so hooked (in general, I do dislike anything in main stream media), I finally broke down and watched Bleach. It was on hulu and since I like to legally support the anime I took a look (thanks to Shellie for getting me to acknowledge hulu as a legal supplier of anime. Always support the anime/manga creators).

I must say that I was not impressed. The main character, one Kurosaki Ichigo, was not very good looking. SO not my type. The whole series is not something I normally would watch. Anyways, I hung on there and watched episode after episode, even though I didn’t really like the show, but I was kinda really bored, so what else was there to do?

I noted very early on that Chad was totally awesome. He has become one of my favorite characters in the whole world of anime/manga. However, with the story line and the other characters, I wasn’t really impressed. I kinda liked Rukia (but she seemed so weak!!!) and I was so excited when I recognized the voice actor of Ishida Uryuu was the same actor that did the voice of Uchiha Sasuke. From the start, I have disliked Inoue Orihime. She seemed to be a pointless character and still remains so till this day in my mind.

I really wanted to give up watching, but it finally happened. After about 27 episodes I became hooked and drug deep into the world of Bleach. It was because of a character I absolutely love named Shiba Kukaku! She is so totally awesome! Also, from that point on, the invasion of the Soul Society to save Rukia really picked up speed. Ichigo also changed. I don’t know what exactly they did, but the animators kinda relaxed his face a bit, threw in a few smiles here and there. Now I think he looks pretty okay and I do actually like his character (though the looks are still, meh).

Now I forget what I was writing about…oh yes! As of now I’ve seen 160 episodes. Orihime has gone to the dark side and her friends are trying to rescue her. Personally, I think she should stay on the side of the Arrancar. She makes a much better out-of-the-way/behind-the-scenes/background villain than she ever did a heroine (btw, I can’t believe she is even classified as a heroine)! But I digress.

Since she moved to Hueco Mundo, I’ve kind of grown fond of her and the interaction that she has with Espada 4-Ulquiorra. As a pair, I like them very much. I find Ulquiorra somehow incredibly hot! I am now totally a UlquiHime fan!!! (Though I still don’t like Orihime alone).

Next I shall talk about my third bleach character obsession (after Chad and Kuukaku): Matsumoto Rangiku. She is the Lt. of the 10^th guard. She is so awesome! She has been endowed with similar…measurements as those that I possess. The big difference is that she has such confidence! She’s always flashing those big breasts around, and brings them up in conversation like it’s nothing. Oh, how I love her. How I want to cosplay her!

Must stay focused! I also am a long time fan of GinRan, which is the pairing up of Rangiku with her childhood friend and Captain of the 3^rd guard, Ichimaru Gin. I saw a picture of him that Shellie drew on the closet door in her dorm room before I even started watching, and he intrigued me. I think he is awesome! Maybe a bit evil, but not too evil. I think that the relationship between Gin and Rangiku is so very interesting! They are my favorite Bleach pair and I can’t wait to see what happens in the future.

I also must speak of the stuffed animals aka mod souls. This is so cute! For an Action-centered anime to have stuffed animals, it is unthinkable, yes? But they are there, and I love them (though at times I find them a bit annoying, except Noba) . Kon even helped me remember a kanji. Let me explain:

The kanji character in question is 困 which is Romanized as kon or komaru. The way I remember it is thinking of the tree inside the box as Kon. I say that if Kon was trapped inside a box it would be nothing but trouble, and thus I get the meaning of this kanji which is “troubled” or “to become distressed.”It can also mean to “be in trouble” which Kon often is.

Now, why did I sit here and write all of this, getting side tracked many times. That is because as soon as I collect enough relevant clips I will be making some Bleach AMVs. It will be the first time Ive done a real MAINSTREAM anime AMV (because I do abhor the popular).
